When I walked into Pulse Fitness I was in a very bad way. I was over 136kgs. (I had stopped weighing myself). I was in the middle of a divorce and had just recovered from a serious knee injury.
I was doing shift work in emergency services and there is a culture of fatty foods and alcohol. It was a regular occurrence of pizza, Chinese foods and all washed down with plenty of beers. My exercise regime was almost nil due to my knee injury.
I was wearing size 44 pants and needed to go up a size. I was depressed and started trying every diet and exercise idea I read about, but I had limited success. Out of desperation I walked into Pulse Fitness and asked what they could do to help.
Mal talked me through what they offered and how they could help. It was friendly and wasn’t a mass produced system designed by a faceless company. I was also introduced to the nutrtionist at Pulse. Between Mal, Garry, my trainer, and the nutritionist, I achieved results I never thought I could ever achieve. I have developed a new healthy lifestyle and even become a role model to some of the people I work with.
Pulse Fitness and all the crew gave me my life back and saved more than just my job, I can’t thank them or recommend them enough.

Over the past two years, I have attended Pulse Fitness Studio to gain strength, lose weight, and increase my fitness. The support and encouragement I have received from the staff has been great. Along with my personal training sessions, I have also been able to get involved in Boot Camp on one occasion and the group circuits. The services provided are excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending all fitness seekers to try Pulse Fitness.

I would like to say that my time at Pulse was awesome. Everybody there was very friendly, welcoming, and professional. The gym is well equipped, very well maintained, and the creche is most convenient.
The staff are knowledgeable, motivated, and obviously like what they are doing. The evidence of this is clear from the first time you complete a session. I definitely saw results and believe my money was well spent. When I am able to, I will be returning for more as I work offshore.

Where do I start. I walked into Pulse fitness two years ago after numerous unused gym memberships and bought '10 freestyle classes' - received two free. I was very unhappy with my weight and body image and came to Pulse Fitness as my last hope. Unlike all other well known gyms which I had been to, I was immediately greeted by Mal who made me feel welcome and I have never looked back.
Walking into Pulse has changed my life. I got to my goal weight and was fit for the first time in my life. I am toned and have energy that I never thought possible. I cannot imagine not having Pulse in my life. Mal, Garry and Paul are all awesome - it's like a big huge extended family ! You are not judged by your weight or what you look like in gym wear, you are always made to feel a million dollars. Give it ago you won’t look back, you will just have a slimmer, fitter future ahead of you. Trust me, I have tried them all and this one actually works!!

I was at Pulse 3 years ago after my first baby. Regained my self confidence and my happiness! I've returned 3 years later after my number 2 baby and I couldn't be happier! During the 3 yr interim I tried gyms, group exercise and health kicks. Nothing motivated me! So coming back to Pulse was the best decision I could make! The trainers are amazing and never make me feel judged or inferior (like some gyms do)... It was honestly like coming home! They're so supportive and inspiring! Thanks everyone!

I have been a member of almost every local gym in the Joondalup area over the last 19 years, but since starting training at Pulse Fitness two and a half years ago, my fitness level and self esteem have never been so good. I started with Personal Training to increase my fitness and strength. Now I am running, riding and lifting weights I never thought possible – and loving it! Since starting at Pulse, training is not boring any more. I have managed to lose weight, stay at my goal weight and feel good about fitness.
There is a great atmosphere at Pulse Fitness; it has a warm personal feel – a family atmosphere, where everyone is friendly and there is lots of laughter – especially at the Group Sessions and at Boot camp! Three of my sons have joined in with the Triathlon Events and Fun Run Events that have been organised through the encouragement of Mal King and the Pulse Fitness team.
As a Mum, it is so great to see your children out enjoying fitness with a happy, fun group of people – all different ages and fitness levels - all making fitness their way of life - together. My teenage sons, husband and I all train with Pulse. We all take part in the Boot Camp sessions and the City to Surf Training – while I absolutely love the group sessions during the week. I thank Pulse Fitness for guiding my family’s awareness of how important being fit and healthy is. I pay particular reference to the impact Pulse Fitness, and especially Mal King, has had on my teenage boys; who always need healthy male role models to follow.
I can see a long lasting friendship with Pulse Fitness and am very grateful for the difference it has made to my life.

I was a very overweight teenager, knew nothing about exercise other than it hurt and I did everything I could not to get out of it. I knew nothing about nutrition, I just ate food because I liked it and it tasted good. I have been training in gyms since I was about 18. I've done the big gym thing - paid my membership, got the free T shirt and drink bottle and got into it. Yes the gym did what I wanted it to - it provided equipment and facilities so that I achieved my goals, but I knew no one there, none of the trainers or staff, I knew nothing about my body or what I needed to do to maximise the time spent in the gym. I knew nothing about nutrition and what I should and shouldn’t be eating. So basically I had to go blindly into changing my eating, exercise and lifestyle habits.
I then started going to Pulse after my auntie invited me to a Saturday morning group session. I loved it. I was made welcome, the trainer knew my name and, knowing I was new, he helped me through all the exercises making sure I knew exactly how to do the exercises correctly. After coming along to the Saturday sessions for a couple of months, I realised that how I had been training was actually doing me more harm than good.
I have now been coming to Pulse for about 2 years now and I feel great! My body is lean and toned (I have lost over 40kgs). I have energy to run around with family and friends. I feel like when I go to the gym I walk out feeling on top of the world. Pulse is not just a gym it’s a family. When you walk in all the trainers say hi, they know your name, you make friends with other gym goers, you learn more about fitness, nutrition and they way your body works. When you ask questions they have the answers or at least find out for you.
Pulse is much more than a personal training studio.I know I wouldn’t be able to live without them.

I have been very happy with the level of professionalism, knowledge and service offered by all the trainers I have worked with over the past year at Pulse Fitness. My fitness level & strength have improved dramatically. It's a great feeling to come into a gym and be welcomed by name by all the trainers each time. All the other services provided by Pulse such as boot camp training, nutritionist assistance further confirms that Pulse focus on everyone's total well being and fitness, not just exercise.

Being middle age, 10kgs over weight and not very fit, I decided it was time to do something about the results of a predominantly sedentary lifestyle.
I called in to see Mal at Pulse Fitness hoping to structure a programme that would help me lose some weight, improve my fitness and general health. A programme was structured by Mal and his team starting at a level that was achievable and gradually increasing the intensity as my fitness and strength improved.
Having only very limited experiences with gyms before becoming a regular at Pulse, I was little concerned that it would be full of seriously fit, chiselled patrons that would have a good laugh at my efforts, nothing could have been further from the truth. I have found the trainers at Pulse to be great people to be around and able to find the balance between providing motivation, discipline and support, they have been instrumental in helping me achieve my goals. The training becomes a journey where you build a relationship with your trainer that makes going to the gym very enjoyable and a seriously needed break from the daily routine.
I have now been going to Pulse for 2 years, have lost 12 kgs, improved my strength and fitness and have noticed a vast improvement in my overall health, I have introduced family members who are now also enjoying the benefits of improved health and fitness.
I highly recommend Pulse Fitness, Mal and his team to anyone contemplating improving their life.

I went along to a session with my friend Sharon Baxter expecting I would hate every minute ( as a seasoned gym dodger and lacking faith in my own fitness). I was proved wrong as the trainer was great; very approachable, giving me exercises which were varied and challenging but not beyond my capabilities. I actually really enjoyed training there and will be back 😀

Like a lot of people, I spend my days trying to juggle work and family commitments, a husband and 2 very active kids and household to take care of. It often leaves very little time for me.
My Weekly PT session at Pulse didn’t really get the results I was after (mainly because I would work out for 30 minutes once a week, then spend the rest of the week eating McDonalds, Twisties and pop tarts ) and I used to wonder why my body wasn’t changing for the better!
The 6 weeks to sexy program was just the kick up the butt I needed.
The food was simple easy and delicious! Mal even writes your shopping list out for you! A little bit of forward planning and preparation meant that I actually had more hours in my day. I no longer stood aimlessly looking in my fridge wondering what on earth to cook , only to decide it was all too hard I’ll just get a maccas family box.
The menu plan had real food that left me feeling full, no cravings and the best part was that it was a menu plan tailored just for me, with my favourite foods and nothing that I didn’t like. Mal also took into consideration my work hours and foods that would be convenient for me at work.
The 2 x PT sessions and 2 x group sessions I squeezed in after school runs and in-between my work hours so it didn’t have to impact my family or their after school commitments. Mal and the team are really flexible when it comes to scheduling PT times that work for me . And YES every week was different, we worked around orthodontist appointments and ballet exams and changing work rosters. BUT with a little effort it IS POSSIBLE!
Before you knew it I was seeing progress. I lost 5 kilos in the first 4 weeks and my body was changing right before my eyes.
Highly recommend to anyone that is serious about making a change. This programs works! It actually works !!!

I have loved my 6 week challenge as a busy full time working mother of 2 kids (7 and 2), I don't have a lot of spare time.
The meal plans: perfect for me not to have to think about it just plan the night before to make sure I was ready for the next day.
Food: Tasted great there was nothing missing, my family also enjoyed the evening meals with me, I have kept all recipes and will definitely continue this as a lifestyle change and loved the new ideas to add to our meal time. (I did cheat once or twice but the next meal is ready and planned to get right back on track)
Exercise: I love my exercise so this was great for me the combination of groups sessions and being able to squeeze a couple of PT sessions around my work was much easier than I thought.
Results: From week 1 I could feel a difference after week 2 almost every client would comment on how good I was looking and by week 4 my clothes were considerably baggy. My muscle definition has changed and I feel happy were I am now and achieved more than I expected. It's not just me but the others doing the program look amazing it's not just 1 or 2 people it's everyone!
I have tried all the pills and shakes and fads but never really worked. I always knew what I should be doing but looked for a quick fix. This is the real way to achieve long term results in a safe and healthy way. All I can say is Just do it! No excuses!

Starting the '6 weeks to Sexy' program was EXACTLY what I needed. I am a self-confessed "non-self-starter" so having a meal plan for every meal of every day of every week was perfect. I knew what was good for me, what I needed, but I kept coming up with all the usual excuses! Mal made sure I had NO EXCUSES!!! The food is amazing, and unbelievably easy to prepare. There's nothing in the plan that I don't eat, it's all custom designed to my taste.
The structure it gives me means that I am not stopping on the way home from work for a sneaky chocolate and I am never hungry as my day is planned out!!

Since having my first child 5 years ago, no one has ever complimented my body... I was always very slim, but used my pregnancies to gorge myself...
The weight just piled on and never came off. In my first 11 days I dropped 3kgs and for the first time in a long time people commented on how good I was looking. Not only that, but I felt amazing!!! More alert, lighter, happier and with a whole lot more energy. By the end of my first 6 weeks I'd past my goal weight for the program, my clothes were fitting so differently, the centimetres had melted away and I was at the fittest I've ever been. I felt so awesome!!!
I can't thank these guys enough, I am so happy with my success and wouldn't be here without them. To Mal, Garry and Dan - You guys are just the best! So supportive, patient and understanding and I'm so glad to have walked in to Pulse Fitness, it's changed my life! xxx
I believe in and love this program so much that I am doing a second round!!
